Lawn care and landscaping in Cave Spring and southwest Roanoke County.

Lawn Care in Cave Spring, VA
Cave Spring is not a town with its own limits — it is an unincorporated community in Roanoke County, and most addresses here read "Roanoke, VA 24018" even though everyone calls the area Cave Spring. We serve the whole of it: the neighborhoods around Cave Spring High School, the streets off Brambleton Avenue, the Penn Forest and Oak Grove areas, and the properties along Electric Road toward Tanglewood.
Lots here tend to be larger than in the city, with more mature hardwoods and more slope. That changes the work. Mowing a steep back yard is not the same job as mowing a flat city lot, and leaf season on a wooded Cave Spring property is a different scale entirely from a street with two young maples.
Services We Offer in Cave Spring
- Lawn Mowing & Edging — Weekly or bi-weekly, on a route we already run through this part of the county.
- Aeration & Overseeding — The single job that makes the biggest difference on a fescue lawn in this soil. Booked late August through October.
- Seasonal Cleanup — Heavily wooded lots here produce real leaf volume. We clear it properly rather than blowing it to the tree line.
- Mulch & Bed Maintenance — Fresh mulch, edged beds, shrubs shaped back to where they should be.
- Hardscaping & Patios — Paver patios, walkways and retaining walls, which the grades around here often call for.
- Irrigation — Installation, repair and winterization.
Why the Slope Matters Here
A lot of Cave Spring sits on the rise toward Bent Mountain and Back Creek, and the clay-heavy soil common across the Roanoke Valley does not drain quickly on a grade. That combination compacts hard over a summer and sheds water instead of taking it in. Aeration opens it back up, and overseeding fills the thin spots before winter so the lawn comes out of spring thick rather than patchy. Getting the timing right matters more than the product used.
We will also tell you when a slope needs a retaining wall rather than another season of fighting erosion with grass seed. That is usually not the cheaper answer in the moment, but it is the one that stops the problem.
